Virtual Information Session | The Importance of Forests: Responding to Local and Global Environmental Issues

Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 7:00 PM until 8:00 PMEastern Standard Time UTC -05:00

    Zoom

From climate change to biodiversity conservation, and water quality to renewable energy, forests are connected to just about every leading environmental issue. Forests are also economically important, providing sustenance and livelihoods in lower-income countries and jobs and investment returns in higher-income countries. With its standalone MF and MEM degrees and its concurrent MEM/MF degree, the Nicholas School trains students to work effectively on the emerging frontiers in forest management, conservation, and policy, with a skillset grounded in practical field skills and augmented by cutting-edge tools in such fields as geospatial analysis, multi-resource assessment, and finance. Join us for our virtual information session where you will learn more about the importance of forests and preparing for careers related to them at the Nicholas School. MF co-chair and forest economist, Dr. Jeff Vincent, will present and facilitate discussion between session attendees and alumni of the program.
